How TikTok Shop fees work
TikTok Shop keeps fees simple, but creator commissions can be large:
- Referral fee: 6% for most US categories, 5% for jewelry. It covers payment processing, so there is no separate card fee.
- New seller promo: sellers who make a first sale within 60 days of opening get a 3% rate for 30 days.
- No monthly or listing fees.
- Creator commission: the rate you choose for affiliates who promote your product, commonly 5% to 20%.
- Discounts: the referral fee on a seller-funded discount is still charged on the price before the discount.
Pricing tip
Set your creator commission first, then price. A 20% commission on top of the 6% fee takes over a quarter of every sale before your own costs.
Worked example
On a sale where you receive $22.00, TikTok Shop fees come to $4.62 (21.0% of the sale). After $11.50 in product, shipping and packaging costs, you keep $5.88, a 27% margin. These are the calculator's starting numbers, so you can change any of them above.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| You receive | $22.00 |
| Referral fee (6%) | −$1.32 |
| Creator commission (15%) | −$3.30 |
| Your costs | −$11.50 |
| Profit | $5.88 |
